The Duel cable with a black and white wires on the FJ Cruiser it takes about 14 ft to run through the frame on the driver side. I used a tape measure to fish the wire through the frame. The Prodigy P3 was easy to install and works very well

Great

by:

Easy to install and safe

by:

etrailer service is excellant. AA+++ As for the breaker, it works as advertised upon installation. Long term use, I have no idea

by:

Does exactly what it is supposed to do...protect the wiring under overload. So far, no issues after one year of being in the harsh conditions under my Jeep's hood.

by:

Excellent quality and strength. Why skimp on something as important as your hitch? I have purchased three of these Draw Tites - I guess a repeat customer will scream about the true quality a company can garner from repeat customers. When you pull show cars worth six figures, you can't afford a poorly made hitch.
Step up, step out, and don't fret what you are pulling.

It's a circuit breaker!

We got
this wire our small teardrop for underway charging. I put it inline after the relay/solenoid, wired so we wouldn't exceed reasonable current flow in 10ga. wiring. I don't think it's ever tripped, except when I loaded it for testing.

Would use again.

by:

Cheaply made. Product gets a 3 star. Shipping gets a zero star. Your warehouse picked a product that had the all important bracket broken off. It was not in the box so the extreme volume and lack of packers delayed my installation. Thank you for shipping correct item 2 weeks late. This is becoming a regular policy.

by:

The equipment arrived complete and in good shape. However the most impressive thing about this, and earlier orders with etrailer was the customer service. When they saw one of the items was delayed they reached out to offer an alternative. They also kept me well informed of progress and when it was shipped/delivered. The videos on their products including installation are also very detailed and helpful. Great place to do business with.

by:

Perfect connector for what I was looking for on my 2019 RAV4. I originally installed it with the L bracket, but later changed it to be flush in the bumper. Looks very clean. The prefab pigtail made install into the car very easy as well.

by:

I had a couple of corroded breakers on my 12 year old travel trailer that caused a lack of 12v power from the house battery to the 12v system components. The replacements solved the problem. I have purchased from etrailer before and I've always been completely satisfied with the products.

by:

Works perfect on my travel trailer, in between my converter and my auxiliary battery. So cheap, that I bought 2 so as to have a spare...why not? Processing and shipping was super fast, I ordered on Wednesday afternoon and had it Saturday. It was awesome to see the video provided by eTrailer, as it helped convince me that this was the exact part I needed. I'll be shopping here again!

by:

I should have ordered the in-line breaker without mounting bracket......discovered it, but you were so fast the parts had been shipped..... I removed the bracket and installed it my Jeepster. It does the job.

by:

They had to send this to me extra because it was missing from the ETBC7L kit that I purchased. It was inconvenient that it was missing but customer service and getting the replacement was easy and expedient.

by:

This product. Is. A great one its going to be used to conect my brake controller to. My 99 Chevy Tahoe I. Got. Both the 20 amp and the. 30 amp . Hopfuly I. Won't need. the 40amp . thanks so much for a. Wonderful produce

by:

Exactly what I needed to add a brake controller to my RV. Thanks for the support.

by:

Everything was as advertised, and thank you Kaylyn R for your wonderful customer service. It took awhile to get everything installed, because of crazy events in the past year, but it all works great!

by:

Fast shipping and arrived on time. Breaker has plastic case not metal but should not affect its function. Bolted on in place of original and should work as original. Pleased with purchase.

by:

I install them in line and one more time the tutorial video was the best tool in my tool box. even wen I got a HVAC back ground the video was my best tool. Thank you.

by:

I ordered this controller and additional parts from Laser. Before committing to buying, I asked him many questions. He answered them all in about a clear and concise way as possible while presenting a picture of how to install the device. It arrived today and I haven't started, but he also emphasized that I could call if I ran into any difficulties. I'll follow up when the job is complete. My experience in this context could not have been better.

  • Switching From A Curt Bluetooth Controller To A Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty In A 2024 Subaru Crosstrek
Hi Elizabeth! I'll be honest, I don't particularly like the Curt Bluetooth controllers either. The Redarc controllers on the other hand, I very much like and the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness # RED52VR is a fantastic one to go with. As to connecting it, that will depend on how the 7-way was wired into your 2024 Subaru Crosstrek. Odds are you will need the parts I have listed below as only the wire from the battery to the 7-way was connected. If you...

If a custom brake-control wiring adapter is not available for your Jeep Wrangler, the you will need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This kit includes wiring and accessories required for installation of a trailer brake controller in your vehicle This kit also includes the fuses you need. If the adapter...

  • How to Install a Brake Controller in a 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 with Factory 7-Way Connector
There isn't a custom brake controller wiring harness available for your 1994 Dodge Ram 1500. It is possible that Dodge makes one that will fit your truck but as far as an aftermarket one none are available for the 1994 models. A brake controller would have to be partially hardwired in. The custom harnesses are only confirmed to fit 1995 and later models. To install the controller, you will just need about 25 feet or so of wire # 12-1-1, sold by the foot, and a 30-amp circuit breaker #...

Hey Ryan, Are you saying that the P3 # 90195 screen isn't even lighting up or that you're just not getting 12 volts out from the unit? The wire harness needs to be wired with black to the battery with a 30 amp in line circuit breaker # 38630, white to the frame for ground, blue to the brake controller output pin on your 7-way, and red to the cold side of the brake light switch. Since the brake light switch wire in your Silverado is too small to splice into I recommend installing a stop...

Depending on your vehicle year make and model, I will be able to provide instructions for wiring the Tekonsha Voyager brake controller. • Should Fuse or Circuit Breaker Be Used When Installing Trailer Brake Controller
I would not recommend using fuses instead of a circuit breaker when installing a brake controller like the Primus IQ # TK90160. While it does protect the circuit it also totally kills the circuit till the fuse is replaced. A breaker will reset eventually which will lower the risk of you being without trailer brakes when towing in the event of a short. I'd strongly recommend you replace the fuses with a 30 amp breaker like part # 38630.

  • Tekonsha Primus IQ 90160 Fuse Blowing Troubleshooting
You definitely want to hardwire the power wire for the Tekonsha Primus IQ # TK90160 to the battery of your 2006 Jeep Commander. However, since you said the problem is also happening with a 30 amp fuse installed in the fuse location for your cigarette lighter (this is not recommended at all), you probably have a short somewhere on the brake output circuit for the controller. Most likely this is corrosion on the front or back of the connector on your vehicle. I would recommend you track...

  • 30 Amp Circuit Protection for Powered A-Frame Jack
10 gauge wire with a 30 amp circuit protection would work great. Instead of a fuse holder I would recommend a breaker like the part # 38630 with 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 which we sell by the foot would be your best option. This would give you the same circuit protection but it would automatically reset instead of requiring you to install new fuses.

You can use a 30 amp fuse if you like, though I do recommend using a circuit breaker instead, the 30 Amp In-Line Circuit Breaker # 38630. This is going to be a lot easier because while you will need to replace the fuse, a circuit breaker will automatically reset. • Brake Controller Installation on 1998 Ford E350 Van
The procedure for installing a brake controller in your van will depend on what (if any) trailer connector is on the vehicle. If the van has the factory installed 7-way or 4-way connector, there will be a port under the dash for installing a brake controller. You will need the brake controller wiring adapter, part # 3035-S. • Does the Power Wire for a Brake Controller Need to Be Ran Directly to the Battery
To answer your first question, it is possible to splice the brake controller's 12 volt power wire into the 12 volt power wire you have attached to the vehicle's battery to charge the trailer's battery but this is certainly not recommend. If I were you, I would just run the 12 volt power wire from the brake controller directly to the battery with the recommended circuit breaker for that particular controller placed 6" for the positive terminal. You will need to hardwire the brake controller to your 2008 Dodge 1500. Because the wires have all been cut it would be best to run all new wires so you know it is done correctly. The four wires coming from the brake controller are White for ground. Black for 12V power, Dark Blue for your trailer brakes, and Red which is for the stoplight. As a first step, you would need to select a brake controller. I would recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. The P2 is extremely reliable and easy to use, which makes it one of our all-time best selling brake controllers. The reason you would not want to install a 30 amp fuse or circuit breaker in a 4 brake magnet application, when installing a Prodigy P2 brake controller, # 90885, is that the extra amperage required to break the circuit could cause an issue with the wiring on the trailer or vehicle because it would take longer for the circuit to spike to 30 amps.
